Biography of Kourosh Bayat

Kourosh Bayat was born in Tehran on 7 June 1976, where he spent his childhood and later finished his elementary and high school. He graduated in mechanical engineering (minor: Solids Design) in 1999. He did extensive research and study in the field of prosthetics while studying at the university, where he succeeded in developing the first “5-finger prosthesis with 15 joints” in the world. During the time of acquiring scientific and research degrees at the university, he won the first place for his invention in the Kharazmi International Science Festival where he was honored to receive his award as well as a special appreciation certificate from the president of Iran during an introduction ceremony. Also, he was selected as the Distinguished Youth of Tehran Province receiving a Certificate of Honor by the Governor of Tehran. During these years, he was also titled as “The best student of Islamic Azad University ” (among all branches) written in an appreciation letter from the chairman of the university.

Due to many challenges in the way of research and manufacturing technological products in Iran, such as insufficient infrastructure for manufacturing specific parts in bulk, lack of facilities for testing and issuing international approvals for the final product and absence of an investor in such fields, the prosthetic hand project couldn’t continue its process and finally suspended. The hand-made prosthesis prototype was registered at the Iranian Patent Registration Center while the drawings and technical information of the project had been completed following installation and successful clinical testing on an amputee's forearm extremity.

Despite the problems Kourosh Bayat encountered, his humanitarian concerns about helping children who were subject to mother-borne amputations, people facing accidents and/or amputated persons in military incidents and wars, prevented him from leaving this project. So, he continued his line of activities . Now he has updated the design of the project, made significant improvements in quality and performance. It is believed that he is able to register new samples of international patents and hopefully start the mass production by the help of sufficient financing.

In October 2001, at the age of 25, he founded Noandishan Donyaye Sanat Co . (an industrial product research and production plant), where from the beginning, he took over the management. Due to the deficiencies of the Tehran metropolitan public transport system and the urgent need for its improving (especially the urban buses), the main policy and purpose of the company were set to design and build systems in order to procure facilities for new urban bus movement info and control systems.

Kourosh Bayat recruited specialized and efficient employees and meticulously planned the first year of the company’s activity. The company succeeded in producing an express bus information system. The product (including design, prototyping, and production plus various components for buses, trucks and mini-trucks) was sold to the largest Middle Eastern bus company (Iran Khodro Diesel) and many other respected companies such as Shahab Khodro , Akia Khodro, Pishro diesel Asia , Oghab Afshan , and Mad khodro Diesel . Specifications and catalogs of these products are available at www.ndstechco.com Besides automotive companies, he collaborated with other Iranian industries like food and electronic companies to design, develop, and producing various systems.

In 2003, Kourosh Bayat continued his postgraduate studies in biomechanics at Tehran University of Science and Research. Based on his activities and deep experience in various fields, he was able to design and develop new ideas in his target sector. On the way of transforming the concept into a production stage with the help of the staff, he managed to register two more patents at the Iranian Patent Registration Center. Simultaneous to his scientific and research achievements in 2004, he got married and has a son named Aref.

In order to accomplish the R&D goals of the company, Kourosh Bayat applied for a membership in Pardis Technology Park (ruled by Presidential Office) and finally became one of the certified members of the complex. Then he purchased a piece of land to invest in the construction of his R&D and prototype departments where the company has continued to operate since 2011.

In the same year, he added a programming department and from the beginning, focused on transportation, management, and controlling software. The department has continued to design and develop various online and offline software .

Between 2011 and 2013, the company implemented the first smart bus line project in the Iran’s capital, Tehran. where this case of novelty was inaugurated by the Deputy Mayor of Transportation. In this project, the vocal satellite-based positioning information system, interior and exterior bus displays produced by the company were installed on the buses. Also, the bus stations were equipped with displays to monitor bus arrival times calculated with the help of server-side software. Bus positioning on the map and timing details of bus movements and station status were also included.

One of the most important issues in Iran has been currency exchange rate fluctuations and deficiencies in information, management, and monitoring of these issues. So, the project "Currency Exchange and Information Management" was declared in the company in 2013. Today new software and products were designed and manufactured as parts of the project being marketed independently. Their features and functions are provided at www.exchangedisplay.com.

During his activities, Iran faced multiple sanctions from other countries due to political issues. consequently, the country lost international markets and encountered a deprivation of raw materials providing. product requirements supply was disrupted. he has persevered with his passion and purpose in the difficult circumstances till now and pursued the goals of the company in the direction of developing, producing new science, expanding knowledge, and manufacturing more products in order to help the community.

In order to grow, expand operations and to be present in international markets, in addition to achieving pioneer design and produce products based on new technologies, he is going to spread his activities out of the country.
